With such positive reviews, I thought for sure that I would love these sandals. However, there are two problems with them. One, the strap by the toe area digs into your foot and causes major irritation. I hope that wearing a band aid for awhile will alleviate this problems. The second is that my foot seems to slip inward in the heel area. I assume that the last on the left shoe is not exactly straight. I will not return them, but will not order another pair in another color as I had planned.

I bought these shoes based on past experience with Clarks shoes, which are usually well constructed and comfortable, however in my opinion, this style is a "dud". I bought these sandals for a recent trip to Disney World, and what a mistake.
I am a diabetic, and buy only nubuck leather shoes due to the softness and "give" that they offer. On this particular style (Clarks Artisan Sarasota Sandals), the upper portion of the shoe is brushed nubuck, but lined in a harder, less supple "leather" which makes them stiff and prone to "digging in" at the overlap portion of the front velcro strap, causing rubbing, chafing, and constant irritation just above the toe area. Being diabetic, I can't risk blisters/sores on my feet, so sadly, these sandals have a temporary home at the back of my closet -- until I can find someone who can tolerate them. Such a shame... and waste of good money.
(Suggestion to Clarks: omit the adjustable velcro front strap, making it one-piece-seamless ~ and make it a true nubuck by omitting the stiff leather lining.)

I really like these shoes. They are very comfortable. On occasion, the bubble in the heel feels awkward. Also, the strap can rub sometimes. I am still breaking them in, so that might change. Other then that, it is a great shoe. I have to walk quite a bit throughout the day and it seems to keep my feet very happy and cool at the same time.

I ordered these shoes and when they didn't arrive I emailed the company and received an email back from both the company and Amazon that the shoes were not in stock and my order was cancelled. Previous reviews of this company mentioned similar problems so beware buying from them.

Clark's fans know why these sandals get 5 stars, and deserve 10. Right out of the box, you can wear them non-stop in total comfort. This is a great looking sandal with easy-on, easy-off Velcro fasteners, and they are adjustable to fit just right. The style is streamlined for a dressed up look, but the construction is rugged and durable. I find Clark's shoes to be practically indestructable, consistent in sizing, and always top quality.
