Be forewarned! If you are ordering the mahogany shoe on the upper right it is incorrectly pictured. It clearly shows it as being shearling lined. But guess what - when you get it in you'll find out it isn't! If you try to get the correct shoe sent to you all you'll get is a bunch excuses from amazon and no shoes. Amazon's customer service leaves a great deal to be desired. Go elsewhere.

Best Shoes I ever had that did not lastJul 30, 2009

I got these shoes about a year ago after a nice sale. I had never had a slip on shoe before but I wanted something comfortable that I could wear at work.
Looks wise they are great for work and when at my desk I can simply slip them off for a little while and let my feet breath.
Comfort was just awesome. Slipping them on and off and having them fit my feet snug (at first) was great. Over time as the leather streched I no longer had as snug a fit.
That streching made it so sometimes my feet would slide around in the shoes a little. Other shoes also do the same thing but without a back piece to kind of hold things together, this helped wear out the inside of my shoes much faster.
The outside also started to fall apart here in the last few months. While the tread is not gone by anymeans, the rubber is coming off in various places. One shoe has even created a little flap that gets air when I walk which makes a sqeeking noise wiht each step.
Given though that I have wore these shoes almost daily for the last year but I had hoped they would last a bit longer. Now I am in a position where I am in need of new shoes and even though these did not last as long as I had hoped, I am about to get another pair. They are super comfortable, convienent, and look sharp enough that I can wear them just about anywhere form Church, work, or any other semi formal place.

These clogs lost points because the foot bed insert is a very thin, cheap & unsupportive piece of fake polyester shearling. No big deal, I'll replace it with something with more support. Also, I'm sending my Encores back because they seem too large, even for a clog. I generally don't have sizing issues, a size 12 always fits me, but these appear to be a half size to a full size too large. I'll try a smaller size and update this rating when I break them in.
Also, be aware that some of the Amazon descriptions are incorrect. The Encore "Chill" Slide has the real Sheep Shearling, and the the plain Encore Slide does not.

I was hesitant to buy a pair of shoes online -- I mean, who wouldn't? But these Merrell's were perfect from the get go -- right size, super comfortable -- casual, sure, but also light as a feather and great with jeans and khakis. Makes me rethink why I wear heavier, restrictive shoes to work.
Arrived in perfect shape in I think 3 days time. No return needed. Not bad.

I was a bit skeptical about buying this style of shoe. It took me 3 years to get them and what a waste of those 3 years it was. I have always found it difficult to find comfortable stylish shoes, as my feet are wider than average. Firstly, I am sure you all know that anything Merrell is top notch and the other Merrell's I have owned have generally been very comfortable. These, however, are amazing.... so light, comfortable with or without socks & well made. I will definately buy them again.
