Love these shoesMay 27, 2010
By Lost in Austin I never write reviews, but I love these shoes! For me, they were an ideal find for two reasons in particular: First, in terms of construction, they are built well for anyone that has plantar fasciitis - strong arch support and very sturdy construction. Second, these shoes run narrow, which for me was a huge benefit. I have giant, narrow feet (size 12), so getting a good fit is typically impossible. Given the size of my feet, I also like that the colors are fairly muted. I added a Powerstep Pinnacles orthotic to mine (also awesome), and I never feel foot pain in these shoes. I can wear them every day, not like most of my other shoes. If only they were suitable for working in an office, they would truly be the perfect shoe for me. Lastly, the only difference between the Gel-Trabuco G-TX and the Gel-Trabuco WR is that the first is made of goretex (supposedly less flexible, too) and the second is water resistant. It took me a while to figure that out. Love these shoes!

EXCELLENT runner, lacing trickyMar 08, 2010
By PC I bought these for hiking our terrain - mountains, steep dirt rocky roads, a lot of the time wet & gym work. I've since been training for a 1/2 marathon in them, treadmill, track & terrain & absolutely love them. Always been an Asics girl & these are wonderful, lightweight, waterproof, balanced. My only beef is normally I have to lace tight at the toe & looser over the arch; this takes a bit of positioning the tongue, arching the foot & pulling on the lace - 'pfaffing about' to get it comfortable, it pinches otherwise. This is only on my larger left foot & looking at them, probably because the lace eyelets curve out, not in. Normally, with my Asics netball shoe (Ladies basketball for anyone not conversed with the sport)this is not a problem because the lace holds. The round laces with these don't, so I will try flatter laces & I think they will be perfect. I was just looking for a road/tarmac running shoe to possibly replace these for the 1/2 marathon, but I think for the comfort, lightweight, stability & waterproofness of these I'll stick with them. Would have given 5 stars but for the lacing set-up.

I'd heard about Asics but never worn a pair before. Ordering shoes on the internet without trying is always tricky, and I wasn't exactly sure whether the shoes would fit me but I was so pleasantly surprised. The color was better than I expected, the shoe fits perfectly and the tracking is great. I have a very low arch so I need full arch support in all shoes. I've worn dozens of Nike, Reebook, Adidas shoes but never felt this comfortable. I can stand, walk and run all day without a single ache in my soles, legs or dull pain in my back. I live in the countryside and wear my Asics day in day out, both indoors and outdoors and I have to admit I've fallen in love with them. Now that I've come to know Asics, I know I'll never be able to buy another brand. I've got a dozen other sports shoes and ever since I got these ones, they've been sitting on the rack. I am now ordering two new pairs, one the same color, one lighter. Thank you Asics, for making me feel so comfortable.
My favorite athletic shoe!Jul 09, 2011
By J. Robinson I absolutely love these shoes! I love the color because I can wear them with pretty much anything. I love the gortex around the toes - keeps my feet dry when playing outside near water or inclement weather. The traction on the bottom is great for hiking or doing trails. The material wears well and doesn't show dirt. They're comfy and durable. I've just ordered my second pair (exact same color and everything) to replace my first pair that is wearing out after about a year of use.

This is the third pair of Asics I have owned and all have been excellent shoes. I recommend ordering 1/2 size larger then what you normally wear. I broke these in for two days before taking a 7 mile mountain hike. The trail conditions where variable with snow and mud, but with these shoes my feet stayed dry and comfortable. I was impressed with the stablility and traction I got on the ice and snow. I wore regular gym socks, not wool hiking socks, and I didn't have any blisters at the end of the day. The laces can be tricky, but if you double knot then it shouldn't be a problem. Happy hiking!
