If you liked the Paramount 1, stock up wile you can still find um. The second generation is much more of a control shoe. The toe box feels narrower to this foot and the heel much higher. The heal support thing that is plastic or carbon looking.... I hate it. It wraps around under the arch of the foot bed, and gives me blisters. I have had repeated attempts to go back to this shoe (they cost a fortune) but have had no luck. Maybe I can mow the lawn in them?!? On the form over function side, these things are way to white, there practically blinding. There kinda like a majority of Nikes... they look good but don't work that well, Not something I expected from a legit Running shoe brand.
P.S. I'm an idiot. I should not have bought the first pair of 2nd generation shoes online. In retrospect I probably could have avoided this situation. In the future.... try before I buy, then get pairs 2,3,& 4 online.

I have been running with the previous model Paramount and really liked them. I got exited when the paramount 2 came out and decided to go for them as it was time to replace my old Paramounts. The new 2s offer more support for the heel and feel stiffer overall. I like the improved stiffness but the upper part of my feet have a hard time adjusting to them. I hope it is just that I need to break them in but I have about 50 miles on them from the last 8 days and I can use them if I tie them really loose and don't use the upper shoe string holes. It makes them less supportive of the heel but at least I can use them. I hope I will get use to them soon and I will continue to use them for my shorter runs until I hopefully break them in. I run 6 days a week and can use 2 pair so I actually ordered a new pair of the old Paramounts today as they are a bargain now since the new model came out.

I am running in Iraq and this shoe works on the paved roads and all kinds of terrain. It keeps your feet cool in the crazy hot weather. i would most definitely buy this brand again.

These shoes were great out of the box. Stay comfortable even on long runs. I was concerced about other reviews of no ankle support but I did not experience any problems. Love these shoes!!

Great light weight and comfortable shoe. Will certainly order it again. Right out of the box it is a shoe that performs well and keeps me running the distance.
